Hey photo friends. Photos are all decided for my Visio Divina 2018 Calendar. Wanted to say I’m working on copy and quotes for my calendar and also the design of a special digital supplement for those who want to go deeper. I don’t want to drop my loyal fans so hereContinue Reading

What is Visio Divina?

“Jesus came to drive a wedge in the status quo and create spaces where new life can happen,” says John Perkins. Our personal lives, the zip codes where we receive our mail and shop for groceries, and the globe we inhabit seem to be spinning out of control. How can weContinue Reading

What is Worldly Holiness?

By: Andrew
On: August 16, 2017

This is the synopsis of my dissertation which I completed in 2007 and the fodder for a book I’m working on called, “Confessions of a Recovering Evangelical.” These ideas have been seminal for me for nearly 15 years in my post graduate studies and ministry of peacemaking and serving asContinue Reading

Last summer on a hike with several friends we stepped into the danger zone of heat exhaustion. We could have well reached a very risky point of no return, on a trail in Glacier National Park with no immediate exit except to return over the trail we just traversed for severalContinue Reading

Prayer: Bending God to My Requests. Really?

2016-01-28
By: Andrew
On: January 28, 2016

“The function of prayer is not to influence God, but rather to change the nature of the one who prays.” ― Søren Kierkegaard Too often my prayer life appears more like the toddler asking a parent, or perhaps a grandparent (knowing a request will more likely be granted) for someContinue Reading

What Others Are Saying

Ted Burrows

A Local Church Pastor
“Through personal storytelling, biblical preaching, and literally getting us out of the church and into a mosque, Andy walked alongside our church with the question, “Compelled by God’s love, what does it mean to love our Muslim neighbor?” Wise, gentle, and prophetic, Andy doesn’t just talk about peacemaking–he lives it.”Website

Linda Howell

Lay Church Leader
“Andy spent a weekend at our church recently speaking about his bridge building relationships with Muslims. This approach resonates in contrast with so much media attention to extremists. It was a new message for a lot of our members, but they seemed willing to listen and be open because of Andy’s gentle and non-threatening presence. Now we can discuss this topic more freely and see our Muslim neighbors in a new light, building friendships as God leads.”

Dr. Brenda Salter McNeil

Professor of Reconciliation Studies
“We recognize you as an agent of change for reconciliation and an influential community leader. We’d like to invite you to influence the next generation of community leaders here at Seattle Pacific University.”

Brad Bergfalk

Pastor
“Andy Larsen recently gave a presentation and engaged our congregation around the question, “Who is our neighbor?” His knowledge and experience as a bridge-builder and peacemaker was evident as he encouraged us to look outside our normal circles of friendships. Andy is well-suited for this ministry as he travels effortlessly between Muslim and Christian communities and invites us to do the same.”

Thanks for stopping by. I'm in constant search for beauty, and try to capture it with my camera. I also look for ways to restore shalom between cultures and peoples that may not see the image of God in their other. I seek to follow Jesus and his invitation to make peace. I love photography, coffee, hiking, time with friends, and a good book. Poke around here. Enjoy the pictures, reflections and stories.
