About 11 months ago I took this trip to Sunrise on Mt. Rainier to remember Dad, with his old pack, ice axe, ashes and climbing rope. This mountain and these trails were, and remain, some of our family’s favorite places. One of my sisters and I summited Rainier, following in Dad’s footsteps. And both of my sons have followed suite and then some. I miss Dad tonight but also treasure the many many memories in the hills with him. He would be proud to hear all about the last two days of intense and fruitful ministry events and how my love for Jesus compels and leads me into new adventures, trusting and following the Holy Spirit. Cari was blessed to know Dad before he passed away and I’m reminded tonight of the truth in this quote. “Sharing tales of those we’ve lost is how we keep from really losing them.” ~ Mitch Albom
